Inner Sunset Flea Update–Meet a Neighbor and Vendor

ISPN is excited to launch the 2021 Inner Sunset Flea at the Inner Sunset Sundays starting with the 2nd Sunday in April.  We are very grateful to Angela Petitt-Taylor of Sunset Mercantile for all her work to organize the 2020 fall season safely.  She follows thoughtful and comprehensive COVID-19 safety plans that include guidelines, protocols, and programs of activities that evolve as needed and always reflect the goal of helping to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the community, vendors, and staff. When it is safe to do, ISPN looks forward to bringing back the full family fun area including the giant games, stomp rockets, bubble stations, chalk, and jump ropes.  As well as some of our themed Sundays including, Let’s Play, the November Pie Baking Contest and Let’s Laugh at the San Franpsycho stage. Without the generous support of sponsors and ISPN membership dollars and donations, we would not be able to host the IS Flea.

We very much appreciate your membership dollars and donations to help with all the cost associated with putting on the neighborhood events! Donate to ISPN here! 💕💕💕

If you can’t wait until April for our local market, Sunset Mercantile has two open air markets currently running in the Outer Sunset at 37th Avenue between Ortega & Quintara: the Outer Sunset Farmers Market & Mercantile, Sundays 9am–3pm year-round and the new Sunset Wellness Mercantile, open Monday – Friday 9am–8pm, February – June. The new Wellness Mercantile is an open-air business corridor welcoming small businesses in need of outdoor space such as dance and fitness studios, makers, artists, and especially any brick and mortar business that is struggling to survive during this pandemic.

Meet your Inner Sunset Neighbor, Nicky who sells her handmde jewelry at the IS Flea:

What kind of items do you sell at the IS Flea Market?

I sell handmade jewelry.

What is one of your favorite things about being a vendor at the IS Flea Market?

I love meeting my neighbors and seeing familiar faces! I also love that the market lets local makers connect with neighbors to create a special little community.

What is one of your favorite things about living in the Inner Sunset?

We have it all! Everything is conveniently located and your neighbors are friendly. I enjoy being able to walk down the street to greet the neighbors I’ve met through the years.

How did you learn about IS Flea?

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 7 years now and I’ve been to the market before selling.

Did you know that if you are an Inner Sunset resident, you qualify for a local vendor discount?
