Inner Sunset News from Supervisor Breed’s Newsletter

  • I negotiated for everyone to have free access to the 55 acre Strybing Arboretum during a 90 minute window every day.
  • After several years of rejected requests, we secured $2 million to replace the ailing Kezar running track.
  • We are working with several City departments and the Mayor to rebuild Kezar Drive and find it a reliable funding source so it does not end up in this state of disrepair again.
  • I sponsored a resolution accepting the very generous contributions of Carla Crane and The Friends of Kezar Triangle, $670K to rehabilitate Kezar Triangle Park with an upgraded irrigation system, improved sod, new plants, and accessible pedestrian pathways.
  • Following the work of the Inner-Sunset Park Neighbors, I asked the Planning Department’s “Pavement to Parks” group and the MTA to work with the neighborhood on a possible Plaza on Irving Street.
  • I dedicated funds to help pay for street closures for the Inner-Sunset Street Fairs, which have been a great success thanks to the hard work of the community.
